&lt;p>The Haramain High-Speed Railway (HHR) is Saudi Arabia&amp;rsquo;s first high-speed rail line, connecting the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) across 450 kilometres at speeds up to 300 km/h.&lt;/p>
&lt;h2 id="overview">Overview&lt;/h2>
&lt;p>Inaugurated in September 2018, the Haramain Railway is one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Saudi history and the first high-speed rail network in the Middle East. The line was constructed by a Spanish-led consortium and uses Talgo 350 trains capable of carrying up to 417 passengers per trainset. The four stations — Makkah, Jeddah, KAEC, and Madinah — are architecturally distinctive structures designed to handle the massive passenger flows associated with Hajj and Umrah seasons.&lt;/p></description></item></channel></rss>
