Sindalah
NEOM's luxury island resort in the Red Sea, designed as the Kingdom's first ultra-premium yachting and hospitality destination.

Definition
Sindalah is a luxury island resort within the NEOM economic zone, located in the Red Sea’s Gulf of Aqaba, designed as Saudi Arabia’s premier yachting destination and the first NEOM component expected to welcome visitors.
Overview
Announced in December 2022, Sindalah occupies a natural island approximately 840,000 square metres in area situated in the crystal-clear waters of the northern Red Sea. The island is envisioned as an exclusive gateway to NEOM, targeting ultra-high-net-worth travellers, yacht owners, and luxury tourism markets historically dominated by Mediterranean and Caribbean destinations.
The development plan includes a 75-berth yacht club and marina capable of accommodating superyachts up to 75 metres in length, three luxury hotel properties, a championship golf course designed by a globally renowned architect, beach clubs, fine dining, and high-end retail. The island’s design draws on the natural beauty of the Red Sea, with coral reef conservation and marine biodiversity protection integrated into the masterplan.
Sindalah is designed to be NEOM’s first operational destination, with initial openings targeted ahead of the other major NEOM sub-projects. Its relatively contained scope makes it more feasible to deliver as a near-term proof of concept, generating revenue, tourism data, and operational experience before the larger components of NEOM come online.

Role in Vision 2030
Sindalah directly supports Vision 2030’s target of growing Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector into a major contributor to GDP. The island positions the Kingdom in the global luxury travel market, competing with established Mediterranean and Indian Ocean destinations. Its early delivery timeline is strategically important, as it provides the first tangible, operational evidence of NEOM’s viability as a tourism destination.
The project also aligns with the Kingdom’s marine tourism ambitions and the broader Red Sea tourism corridor that includes Red Sea Global and AMAALA. Together, these projects aim to establish Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coastline as a world-class destination rivalling the Maldives, the French Riviera, and the Greek Islands.
